Jean Daneel – JD 2010. A mix of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Colombard. From Napier, near Cape Agulhas. 13.5% Pineapple, hints of honey. A well balanced wine. Great with a mild curry, R61.
De Wetshof 2009 Riesling. From Robertson. 12.5%. Lime peel and a whiff of diesel. Lovely fullness on the palate. Cape Malay fish curry, R 77.
The Guru 2008. Merlot from Stellenbosch 13%. Cinnamon and plums, easy drinking. A touch of tannins. Great with a pizza or a beef stew. R 43.
Lynx Vino Tinto. Franschoek. 14.5% Peppery taste black plums, green peppercorns.Drink with a hearty casserole or boerewors roll. R68
Usana. The Fox 2007. Cabernet Sauvignon. From Stellenbosch. 14%. Black cherry, cigarbox, dusty grape leaf. There’s an earthiness in this wine. Would go well with steak and sauce like a mustard and mushroom. Great value for a Cabernet Sauvignon R68.
Red Shoe 2009 Ruby Cabernet and Cabernet Sauvignon. From the Vredendal area. 14.5% Red fruit, cherries, raspberries, a touch of prunes with a smoky finish. Try with a Spanish chicken stew with red peppers and tomatoes. R 57
