Where were you born?
 
Near Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
 
How long have you been in your present job?   

We opened Camil’s in Green Point last November.       

What’s your favourite thing to cook?       

Fish and seared scallops. Simply done with maybe some herbs.       

What’s your favourite thing to eat?       

Fish.       

Describe the worst customer you’ve ever had?       

It’s the one who can’t be satisfied. Give him a fresh dish, talk to him, give him his money back….nothing works.       

What’s the best thing about your job?       

I like being creative, and it’s very rewarding to see happy customers.       

What’s the worst thing about your job?       

It’s very time consuming.       

What other restaurants do you like?       

Hard to say as I get very little time to visit them, but I’d mention La Petit Ferme.       

If you weren’t a chef, what other job would you like?       

Something to do with art.
