Bernard Veller of Nitida. He gave me the chance to come to Nitida 4 years ago and has taught me about every aspect of the business – from how to run the farm, the business, the vines and also how to make great wine.

These are two bloody great summer drinking braai wines. The red is R55, and the white is R45.
You can glug them back with meats of any origin, braai’d to death in any sauce from sweet, to fiery.

What has been the biggest influence on your winemaking?
The biggest influence on me to date have been the people I’ve worked with. I’ve had great mentors – John Loubser, the Cellarmaster here, and Erika Ubermeyer at Graham Beck in Franschhoek.
