The new interior design at LQF - warmer and more minimalist.

The Tasting Room at Le Quartier Français has had an interior design overhaul.

Theatre and set designer, Herbert Janse (and Margot’s brother) flew in from Holland to oversee the redesign and has created a look which mirrors international food trends;  away from the stiffness and formality of ‘fine dining’

There’s an informality to the design that sees bare handcrafted wooden tables combine with soft primary colour furnishings, wooden floors and subdued lighting.

The wooden tables are made from Franschhoek oak.

I like what I see and can’t wait to drop by and have a look.

I ate in Le Quartier just before they closed for their Winter break and felt then that the interior design could have done with a revamp. So well done Margot!

Importantly, the chairs look comfortable.
