Luke Dale-Roberts opens The Pot Luck Club and Gallery.

Luke Dale-Robert’s latest venture is The Pot Luck Club & Gallery, a tapas bar and art gallery, which is situated adjacent to his award winning restaurant, The Test Kitchen, at The Old Biscuit Mill in Cape Town.

There will also be a dedicated cocktail bar and an accompanying list of boutique wines to complement the food.

Diners can expect Luke’s signature Asian-influenced pork belly served with XO dressing, red cabbage and apple slaw to Cumberland sausage and red onion rolls and sophisticated servings of foie gras served tableside to guests.

The interior design sees a wall of glossy black metro tiles behind the open plan kitchen and bar, another painted a deep aubergine, an impressive selection of contemporary South African art and details such as sandblasted wooden tree trunks for seating and milled steel tabletops.

Luke is a South African art and design enthusiast and the artworks are curated by his fashion designer wife Sandalene Olivier. The first show at The Pot Luck Gallery will feature works by leading artist Peter Eastman and will open early in 2012.

    Dear Mrs. Noonan,
Thanks for your mail. Aren’t you great using a computer at 81? Sorry, I don’t mean to patronize, but as a child of the paper generation, I have only just gotten over the move from LP’s to CD’s. My 13 year old works the DVD player for me.

    …and I thought you were a 78’s girl Clare! :-)

  3. Clare says:

    Good girl Nancy,

Get that nephew to make a batch of cottage pies and to freeze some. He can heat them for you when he is over doing the computer.

Ask him to install a twitter machine while he is there, as they are free and great fun.

As for the senior discounts try these new fangled Groupon vouchers, or just phone ahead and ask what the senior’s discount is. Most restaurants, especially in Braamfontein, would offer one, I am sure.

  4. Clare says:

No since I lost the wind-up handle, Michael.
