It’s Jamie Foxx, the Academy Award winning actor who is the new face of Oude Meester brandy in South Africa.
Quite a coup for Oude Meester, who flew him to Cape Town to film the commercial which hits the TV screens this month.
The communications campaign plays on the the usage of the phrase Dude Meister, which is the name the brand is given in a few African countries.
“That someone of the calibre and clout of Foxx was prepared to be linked with a South African brandy speaks volumes for the standing of the brand”, said Shelley Ellse of Oude Meester.
Jamie, you are the Dude.

Well there you go Marsha. I guess they Oude Meester people needed a well known, famous, black man who has aspirational qualities. I’m sure they did their research on Jamie Foxx and SA consumers gave him the thumbs up. But I agree about Hennie and Dax, they are both fine things and would be a fine ambassador for any brand. Can they act though?
