Food Network, the 24/7 food entertainment channel broadcast in South Africa on DStv, has signed one of South Africa’s most well-known and respected chefs, Jenny Morris, to develop and host Food Network’s first commissioned show in South Africa.
Jenny Morris, also known as The Giggling Gourmet, is an author, magazine writer, radio and TV presenter, celebrity chef, teacher, caterer and culinary tour guide who has had an ongoing love affair with food since she was a child.
For the past 14 years, Jenny has operated a catering and recreational cooking school business in Cape Town. She has also broadcast on more than 1000 radio shows, and three local TV series on SABC, E-TV, DStv Home-channel.
She continues to host regular radio shows on 567 CapeTalk on Thursdays at 14h00 (GMT 12h00) where she gives tips and advice to young couples on creating a first kitchen, having a first dinner party and keeping the honeymoon going.
Jenny wrote the best selling cookbook “Rude Food, Nude Food, Good Food” in 2004, her second book “More Rude Food” was published in 2006, and her third book “Cooking with Jenny Morris” is due out during the last quarter of this year. She also writes a weekly column for the Next48Hours paper, and often contributes to various other magazines.

Asked about the challenge to develop and host Food Network’s first commissioned show in South Africa, Jenny says she’s up for it. “I am delighted and incredibly excited to be working with Food Network to develop its first SA show. It’s such a vibrant channel, I feel really passionate about the brand and the direction it’s heading in, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Hi Jenny,I have traveled to various eastern and middle eastern countries chasing there food and culture, my last being Vietnam, but I must say that watching your program on cooking in Morocco has made me want to go there as I have never been there.
What a wonderful program done by a wonderful person keep up the good work and I will be watching.
