Blonde Restaurant has finally packed her bag, checked her make up one last time, and marched off into the sunset flicking her blonde mane, never to return.
Blonde was the third restaurant in the Caviar groups chain in Cape Town. The others are Beluga and Sevruga.
The building and restaurant is for sale, lock stock and barrel for a sweet R4.4 million.

The original story, on February 6th, went as follows;http://www.spill.co.za/south-african-restaurant-reviews/blonde-has-a-rethink/4028/
An insider in the restaurant business said “This was a fine dining concept that opened in the wrong area at the wrong time. The owners were out of their comfort zone, as their thing was sushi and seafood. Their pricing was all wrong, as evidenced by the almost permanent half price menu items that they promoted.”
Friday, April 15th. Story Update. Comment from Samantha Obery, Caviar Marketing Director.
“The Caviar Group is restructuring and we are going through internal changes at Servuga and Belgua.
We decided to close Blonde because we couldn’t give it the attention it deserved.
We’re canvassing our options and one of these options is have put it up for sale and see if we get the price and if we don’t we’ll hold on to Blonde because we own the building and do something else, like open a neighbourhood restaurant. We’ve also had a number of offers.”
