Steenberg and Slow Food Mother City will be hosting an exclusive MEAT FREE MONDAY DINNER at fine dining restaurant, Catharina’s, on Monday 2 April 2012. The 3-course set vegetarian menu (R195 per person), will be prepared by Catharina’s Executive Chef, Garth Almazan, who as a pre-dinner treat for foodies, will take guests on a guided walk of the hotel’s herb garden when they arrive at 18:30.

To set the mood the winners will enjoy a complimentary glass of wine from Klein Steenberg’s selection of Sauvignon Blanc or Cabernet Sauvignon, while taking in the breathtaking scenery during the garden walk.

At dinner, you’ll look forward to a Grilled Watermelon Canapé with shaved fennel, pomegranate, baby mozzarella, walnuts, watercress and chive oil. As a first course, Chef  Almazan will serve an Asparagus, Broad Bean & Goat’s Cheese Risotto with ciabatta crumbs, delicious sautéed baby mushrooms, white truffle oil and micro herbs. Grilled Aubergine and Roasted Onion Terrine with lentil bolognaise, olive tapenade, fried capers and basil oil will be served as main course, while Frozen Lemon Parfait served with summer berry cannelloni and decadent white chocolate sauce, will end the Slow Food dinner on a deliciously sweet note.
